February felt even shorter than it actually was. I lost a bit of time to mold-making for the Lola commission, but it was well worth it! Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few more casts from it and create a production mold so that I can offer this fiddly, in between size in the shop. Lola’s saddle was a complex beast with lots of tooling, silver, and (you guessed it) toothpick painting and setting studs by hand, but well worth it. The client also had me make a set of boots for her Chips Cutting horse; I really love how the taupe and brown look against the silver bay.
My second February commission was a polo set! This one was great fun - I spent a fair bit of time on the computer recreating polo girths and test printing. Like the work for Lola’s tree, it was well worth it.
Alas, I ran out of time to do anything with small projects in February. Between the extra time casting, printing girths, and getting ready for International Model Tack Month sign ups, I didn’t have a lot of extra time. Speaking of IMTM…

International Model Tack Month registration started on March 1! The Facebook group is the best place to participate, but if you aren’t into social media you can register here. April & Beyond
April is IMTM! Instead of commissions, I’ll be having a sale. I’ve been stockpiling odds and ends whenever I have time, so there are several pairs of boots, a couple of bridles, and a PORTUGUESE WORKING EQUITATION SET. Yeah, you heard me! Exact date TBD, since I still need to photograph, edit, list, and…well…there’s a lot of work left between making sales items and actually selling them. As always, join the newsletter, Facebook page, or follow on Instagram to stay abreast of the latest news.
