January Update

One of my 2017 resolutions is to blog more. No matter the year, it seems my resolutions  ALWAYS to blog more. Sigh. I have come to grips with the fact that I am not a blogger, but I still want to write a little bit! So here's a quick update on what's going on in 2017 so far.

I have plans to work on writing that pesky western book in the last week of the month. Until then, I'm working on a donation for Show for the Cure. I've sent a donation to Jenna for the past...well, a while. It's been a fun partnership, and I'm really glad that I get to participate again! I decided on a dressage set for Mini Valegro, since I haven't worked with him yet. Jenna is sending a model to me, so I won't take final photos until then but here's a look at the bridle!

I think I've finally nailed down a good technique for sparkly brow bands! The secret? Silver thread.

Django has gotten some love, too - I've been working on what I'm referring to as a "renaissance fair" bridle for him. It's not intended to represent any specific historic period, but is more like the creative mishmash of historic details you're likely to see when you attend your local ren-fest. This will be for sale, eventually.

Last but not least, I've been poking at an idea I've had ever since Orion arrived. I'm working on a spiffy black and lime green jumping set for him. The saddle is loosely based on some Stubben jumping saddles; specifically, the seat and knee roll padding. The most recent photo shows it being modeled by Django, who looks mighty spiffy!

The lime & black jumping set was intended to be a personal piece, but I suspect that it will end up for sale when completed. If you want to know when these pieces go up, sign up for the newsletter. The subscribers will get an email when these pieces are available!
